Just over one year ago today, I was invited to be a guest on a brand new talk show called “The House.”
The show didn’t have a home (network) yet. But, the team behind it just knew it could be something big, so they trusted their vision, built a team, and went for it. #IfYouBuildItTheyWillCome
Fox Soul is Fox’s first advertising-supported over-the-top (OTT) network. “It is a widely syndicated, free streaming platform focused on the African American/Black community, celebrating Black culture, conversation, and entertainment,” according to the LATimes.
When I received the invitation to be a guest, it didn’t take me long to say “Heck yeah, I’ll be on!” The producers basically had me at “Black,” “LGBTQ” and “Talk Show.”
Anyone who knows me is well aware that I’ve always wanted to host a TV show, especially a TV panel-style talk show. I just really love a panel-style format for engaging in thoughtful dialogue between folx with diverse opinions. So, being invited to join “The Fam” was a dream come true.
During dinner, we discussed a ton! Some highlights: what it’s like to hold multiple intersecting identities, what being queer and Femme means for me, and how I “faked” self-confidence until I found it.
Scroll to the bottom to watch.
The all-queer host panel known as “The Fam” includes:
Community psychologist and life coach, Antonio LeMons
Clinical psychologist and trauma specialist, Cheryl Rich
International beauty expert and hairstylist, Chris Curse
Producer-creator and online personality, Aaron Johnson Levy
I truly think there is something for everyone with this show and the FOX Soul network, in general. I hope that you’ll watch. And, when you do, that you walk away with some feel good vibes from my self-love message.
Thank you to the producers of “The House” for the opportunity and to the hosts for such a fun and engaging conversation.

Without further ado, here is my episode of The House on FOX Soul. Please enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments!
